Performance Preparedness with Caroline Joy DPT 

Caroline Joy is a PT who completed clinical work with CT Dance Physical Therapy, Westside Dance PT, NYC Ballet, and School of American Ballet.  She currently works with multiple dance studios in the area including providing weekly PT services at Skidmore College’s Dance Department and has provided a dance medicine workshop series at Saratoga City Ballet.

Program Description:

Thinking ahead to Nutcracker and long rehearsals, Dr. Caroline Joy will explain how to best use the time in between rehearsals, avoid getting cold, work against overuse in class/rehearsal, and working to stay healthy throughout. Caroline has used her experience working with the School of American Ballet and New York City Ballet to prepare an easy, straight forward approach that you can implement as you move into some serious weekend workouts. This three -part program addresses ways to get the most out of your own warm-up, short daily strength builders, and some healthy approaches to aid your body in recovery, including a look at the foods you consume

 
Three part program for dancers ages 11 and up.
Week 1. Prep Work: How to warm-up your body for demands of dance
 
Week 2. Staying Strong: Small daily hacks/exercises that will strengthen your body.
 
Week 3. Self Care: How to help your body recuperate
 
When:
Fridays- October 18, 25, and November 1.   4:30-6pm

Saratoga City Ballet studios
 
Cost – $65 for the 3-week program
